Edge Fitness Membership Costs 2026: Smart Savings Guide
Learn Edge Fitness membership costs 2026, including plans, fees, perks, and expert tips to save on your gym membership.
Choosing the right gym starts with knowing the price. Edge Fitness Clubs is one of the most popular gym chains in the Northeast and Midwest, and it’s all about premium amenities at an affordable rate. But how much does an Edge Fitness membership cost exactly? In this guide, we’re breaking down every plan, fee, and discount so you can choose what works for your fitness goals and what works for your budget.
What is The Edge Fitness Clubs?
A Brief History of The Edge Fitness Clubs
The Edge Fitness Clubs started in 1988 with founder Vin Sansone and is now owned by CEO Michael Copeland. We have grown to over 200 locations across 9 states (PA, DE, NY, NJ, CT, RI, MA, NH & MI) mainly throughout the Northeast and Midwest. We are known for providing a premium gym experience without the premium price.
1. What Makes Us Different
Why do you have to choose between affordable and full featured? At Edge Fitness Clubs you don’t! A membership gives you access to everything from a large cardio floor, free weights, TRX suspension training, a turf training zone, group fitness classes, REAL Ryder cycling, the Edge cinema (where available), functional training, and a woman only studio area. These are the same amenities you would find at most high-end gyms but at Edge we keep our pricing competitive and our environment friendly.
2. Who Is Edge Fitness Best For?
Edge Fitness is a great fit for just about anyone. If you’re new to working out and are only interested in having access to gym equipment, then this is going to be the best option. It also suits seasoned fitness buffs who want access to group classes, as well as some boutique style training (though not on the same level). They compete with gyms like Planet Fitness, LA Fitness, and Gold’s Gym but typically offer more for around the same price or cheaper.
Edge Fitness Membership Costs: Full Breakdown
Edge Fitness has three main membership types, and each tier offers you different access and perks. Here's what each plan includes, and how much it costs.
1. Edge Red Membership: ~$14.99 per month
This is the most basic and least expensive membership. It includes full use of the gym floor, including all cardio machines, weight machines, and free weights. This is a good option for anyone who just wants to work out on their own and doesn’t need classes or any extras. (Not available at every Edge Fitness location).
2. Edge Fit Membership: ~$29.99 per month
The Edge Fit plan is the most popular choice for many as it gets you everything that is included in the Edge Red membership, plus access to multiple club locations and unlimited group fitness classes like Zumba, Les Mills, and other studio formats (spin classes & edge strong not included).
3. Edge Total Membership: ~$34.99 per month
The Edge Total plan is the most all-inclusive level membership that provides you with everything offered at the gym. In addition to the Edge Fit amenities, you will also have access to spin classes and Edge Strong small group training sessions. Recover after your workout with our massage chairs and unlimited tanning or visit our women only studio. If you choose this membership plan and are still looking for more perks, sign up for Fit Pak and Total Access Plus (TAP).
4. Month-to-Month vs. Annual Contract Pricing
The longer you commit, the lower your monthly dues at Edge Fitness will be. If you sign an annual contract, for example, your base monthly dues can drop as low as $9.99 per month. Going with a more flexible month-to-month plan does come at a higher monthly cost though. Most contracts are either 12 or 24 months long and after this time period you are able to cancel with 30 days notice.

Additional Fees You Should Know About
In addition to the monthly fee, there are a couple of other fees you should be aware of before joining. Knowing about these fees ahead of time will allow you to plan your budget accordingly.
1. Enhancement Fee
All Edge Fitness members are billed an annual enhancement fee of about $49.99. This is a once-a-year billing starting the year after you join and is billed on all three membership levels. The enhancement fee goes towards new equipment and up keeping the club.
2. Enrollment and Processing Fee
Upon signing up, you may be required to pay a one-time enrollment or processing fee. The good news is that Edge Fitness often has promotions in which they waive this fee, so if you plan on joining, I will wait until they are running a promotion or ask a staff member what their current deal is.
3. Drop-In Class Fee
If you’re not a member but want to take a class, you can pay a drop-in fee of roughly $10 to $15 per class. It’s an easy choice for those who want to test the waters at the club before joining.
4. Childcare Costs
Childcare is certainly not included with any Edge Fitness membership option. If you do need it, a drop-in session will usually cost $7 per day or there is an unlimited monthly childcare option at some locations. 3 months to 12-year-olds can come so you will be able to exercise while they are being looked after.
5. Personal Training Add-Ons
Most locations also offer Personal Training as a separate add-on. Pricing varies by location, trainer, and type of session you would like; just let the team member know what you are looking for and they can tell you more about pricing and package options for 1-on-1 training or Small Group Training.

Special Membership Options and Discounts
We know that everyone is different, so we offer more than just the standard three tiers.
1. Edge Fitness Student Membership Cost
You can join Edge Fitness at a discounted rate if you are a student. Student memberships generally range from $20 to $30 per month based on location and the plan you choose, and you must provide a valid student ID to be eligible. This is an ideal option for college students or younger fitness lovers who are looking to gain full gym access without the big cost.
2. Family Membership Cost
An Edge Fitness family membership will cost you anywhere between $55 and $70 per month, depending on your location. With a family membership, any members of the same household can use the one plan. This works out much cheaper than purchasing separate regular memberships. Strap in, this is a practical and cost-effective way to get active with your entire clan.
3. Senior Membership Options
Some Edge Fitness locations have options for seniors. You’ll need to reach out to the club closest to you as pricing is different depending on location. Senior memberships are meant to keep older adults active and improving mobility and living a healthy lifestyle in a gym atmosphere that supports those goals.
4. Corporate and Partner Discounts
Edge Fitness partners with local businesses and employers and offers corporate wellness memberships. If your company has a wellness program or a partnership with Edge Fitness, you may be eligible for discounted membership rates. Speak with your HR department or in-club to see if your employer qualifies for this.
5. Guest Pass and Free Trial
Not ready to take the leap? The Edge Fitness offers a 3-day guest pass, which allows you to use all club amenities with no financial commitment. There is also a 7-day free guest pass for referred prospects. It’s easy! Just come in with an existing member.

How to Save Money on Edge Fitness Membership Costs
The Edge Fitness membership costs are already competitive, but there are a few ways you can cut your costs even more. Here’s what you need to know.
1. Watch for Promotional Offers
Edge Fitness has some sort of promotion going on almost every month of the year. They will waive their $100+ enrollment fee, offer reduced rates and sometimes give special discounts during certain times of the year. The club will usually advertise these deals on social media and their website. If you join during one of these promotions it can save you hundreds over the course of a year.
2. Commit to a Longer Term
If you’re committed to sticking with your fitness routine, an annual contract is one of the simplest ways to get a lower monthly rate. Annual members can get rates as low as $9.99 per month on select memberships, versus higher month-to-month pricing. Just be sure that you’re in it for the long haul before you commit.
3. Ask About Discounts Directly
Not all specials are posted on the Internet. Sometimes, you can just go into a club and ask about current specials or try to negotiate your monthly rate and see if you get lucky. Employees frequently have access to unpublished specials or know when future discounts will be available–so don’t be shy.
4. Check Groupon and Third-Party Deals
There have been times in the past where Edge Fitness has been on Groupon and a third-party site for as low as 30-day fitness plans or short-term memberships. So, check that out before you join, you may savings on your first month or trial period.
5. Use the Referral Program
If you know someone who is already a member at Edge Fitness, ask them to refer you. You can get a free 7-day guest pass through the referral program, and the referring member might get some benefits or fees waived too.
How to Sign Up and Cancel your Edge Fitness membership.
1. How to Join
Joining an Edge Fitness club couldn’t be easier. Simply go to the Edge Fitness website and view our membership plans. Once you have selected a membership plan that best suits your budget and goals click on the “Join Now” button. Enter your personal information, payment details, then follow the prompts to complete the process of joining online. Alternatively you can visit any one of our Edge Fitness clubs where our friendly staff will gladly assist you in signing up.
2. Membership contracts terms.
Most Edge Fitness memberships are a 12-month or 24-month contract. The first benefit of signing a contract is that when the prices go up in the unfortunate event we have to raise them because of inflation, your rate does not change as long as you do not cancel during your contract period. After the initial term is done on your membership, it automatically goes month to month.
3. How to Cancel
To cancel your Edge Fitness membership once the term of your contract is up, you have to submit a written request canceling with at least 30 days notice. You can email ABC Fitness (the club’s billing company) to do this at: customercare@abcfitness.com. If you need to cancel before your term ends due to a qualifying condition such as military service, medical or moving, you may be able to cancel early if documentation is provided.
